Dr. Purnima Valdez, developmental behavioral pediatrician, explores challenges related to eating and toileting in children with autism and I/DD. Dr. Valdez discusses medical and behavioral evaluation of these skills, reviews medications that may be useful, and describes how toilet training may need to be modified for this population. Dr. Valdez also shares caregiver and community resources that may be helpful for addressing toileting and feeding concerns.
