Annise Weaver, MSEd

Annise Weaver is a Co-Director of NC-PAL and an Associate Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Duke University’s School of Medicine. Annise helped spearhead an Employee Resource Group for Black Staff in the School of Medicine in September, 2021 and is currently the chair. She works closely with the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the School of Medicine to initiate programs that support the progression of underrepresented voices within the school and North Carolina community.

Prior to joining Duke, Annise worked as a Senior Director at Odyssey House, where she spent nine years leading programs that assisted women and children in need of holistic treatment for a variety of behavioral health needs. Before that, she worked in a variety of settings including a therapeutic weight loss high school for adolescents in California and one of the first residential substance use treatment programs for women and children in New York City.

Annise is a native New Yorker who enjoys bowling, golf, pickle ball and spending time with her family.
