While picky eating is common in childhood, persistent restrictive eating may signal Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). This presentation help pediatricians and family medicine providers recognize ARFID and differentiate it from typical picky eating. Dr. Ilana Brodzki Pilato, clinical psychologist, and Dr. Amanda Kimberg, pediatrician and child and adolescent psychiatrist, will review diagnostic features, common comorbidities, practical screening approaches for primary care, and guidance on management and referral.
