The South East Area Health Education Center (SEAHEC) is hosting its 5th Annual Summit for Behavioral Health on May 20-22, 2026 in Wrightsville Beach, NC, and we’d like to invite you to join us there!
The summit is a great opportunity for healthcare and behavioral health professionals to connect and reflect on how to best support patients’ behavioral health needs. From the conference website:
“The Summit offers a comprehensive agenda, including workshops, plenary sessions, and breakout discussions, all focused on the latest evidence-based practices in the behavioral health field. Attendees will explore a wide range of topics, such as trauma-informed care, addiction treatment, child and adolescent mental health, cultural competence, integrated care models, and much more.”
Education is at the core of this summit. A few workshop topics from the agenda include:
- Implicit Bias in Mental Health
- Orientation to Disaster Mental Health Intervention
- Echoes of the Past: Healing Generational Trauma Through a Generalist Trauma Informed Lens
But that’s not all! Check out some of the session topics:
- Clinical Approaches to ADHD in Women: From Reproductive Transitions to Parenthood
- Bridging Trauma-Informed Practice Across School and Clinical Settings: Attachment-Informed Mindfulness Interventions for Youth and Families
- When Behavior Isn’t Defiance: Understanding the Highly Sensitive Child
This year’s keynote speaker is Damon Tweedy, MD. You may know him as a Professor of Psychiatry at Duke University School of Medicine, or as an accomplished author with a New York Times bestseller. Join us for his Keynote on Thursday, May 21.
