As of November 2024, NC-PAL has proudly trained 500 providers in The REACH Institute’s Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care (PPP) program! This milestone reflects our ongoing efforts to enhance the capacity of providers statewide to address behavioral health concerns in children and adolescents.
The REACH PPP program equips healthcare providers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to treat child and adolescent behavioral concerns within primary care settings. The training starts with a three-day interactive and dynamic course, offered virtually over the weekend. Then, providers meet for a series of biweekly case calls where they collaboratively work through cases that they’re facing in everyday practice.
The mini fellowship is available to all North Carolina MDs, DOs, and APPs in family medicine and primary care settings. To date, NC-PAL has trained providers in 58 counties, and we aim to reach all 100 counties. If you’d like to help us spread the word, please feel free to share our REACH PPP flyer with your colleagues!
We are excited to continue increasing access to the REACH PPP training, empowering more providers to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
"This course reaffirmed that it is possible to provide effective support and evaluation of mental health concerns in any setting when you are prepared. Our children deserve to have healthcare providers who refuse to allow them to slip through the cracks and suffer silently. This course and its instructors are an inspiration." – 2024 REACH PPP Participant
