What is DBT?
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a structured therapy that can help teens who have trouble navigating strong emotions. DBT works by teaching a variety of skills including mindfulness skills, emotional regulation skills, and distress tolerance skills. DBT helps treat emotional instability and severe behavioral symptoms such as self-harm and suicidal thoughts or attempts. (Child Mind Institute)
