Client motivation is well documented as a significant predictor of the success of treatment for persons struggling with health behavior change. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an empirically supported person-centered approach to counseling clients facing health behavior change. In a large number of empirical studies, MI has shown to be an effective intervention to improve rapport and increase retention and outcomes of persons with various issues. Participants in this workshop will be exposed to the MI philosophy, theory, and skills as they relate to the use of MI for health behavior change. Note: Free to AMH+ AND CMA Approved Providers.
